Are you a traditional publishing company?
Yes, Flock Publishing is a traditional publishing company. We do not charge authors any fees, and we are not a vanity or hybrid publisher. Our authors provide the content, while we bring our expertise, experience, funding, and production resources to create and market their books.
How are you different from a vanity publisher?
Unlike vanity publishers, who require authors to pay for services like marketing, advertising, and promotion, Flock Publishing covers all costs related to book production and promotion. Our focus is on creating a true partnership with our authors, investing in their work and sharing the profits once the book is launched.

How do I submit a manuscript for consideration?

What is your manuscript submission process?
Our submission process is straightforward. Fill out a simple form providing the necessary information about your manuscript, and we'll take it from there.
Do you accept unsolicited manuscripts, or do I need an agent?
We welcome unsolicited manuscripts and prefer receiving them directly from authors.
What are your guidelines for manuscript formatting and submission?

How long does the review process take after I submit my manuscript?
Our publishing coordinators read each submission. We strive to reach out with a decision within 6 weeks.
Can I submit my manuscript to other publishers while it's being considered by you?
We accept simultaneous submissions. However, please let us know immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere.
What happens if my manuscript is accepted for publication?
If we accept your manuscript, we will contact you to discuss the next steps, including contract signing and entering the publishing process, including editing and cover design.
What types of contracts do you offer authors (royalty rates, advances, rights, etc.)?
We do not currently offer advances. Our contracts grant us publication rights, but authors retain copyright ownership. We offer a 35% royalty rate.
What is your editorial process like? Will I be involved in editing, cover design, and marketing?
Each manuscript goes through two editing phases, focusing on line and copy edits. There will be a final proofread before the Manuscript is formatted. All cover designs are created without the generation of AI and authors will have final say in the cover. We have an in-house marketing team that owrks with authors and influencers across different social media platforms.
How long does it take for a book to be published after it has been accepted?
Publication dates will vary depending on our current release schedule.
What marketing and promotional support do you provide for authors?
We use targeted advertising on reader-centric platforms and maintain an active ARC (Advance Reader Copy) team to generate reviews and early support for our authors' books.
Will my book be available in print, eBook, and/or audiobook formats?
All books will be published via KDP initially. Audiobook production may be discussed separately if applicable to your project.
Do you accept international submissions?
Yes, we welcome submissions from authors around the world.
